Outbound telemarketing call centers are specialized units for making telemarketing calls to prospective clients. They provide you with a wide array of sales related services, such as making cold calls, qualifying leads, setting appointments, making follow-up calls after a trade show or after a direct mail campaign, up-selling, cross selling, taking surveys, getting customer or client feedback, registering your customers for a seminar, announcing a special sale or event and conducting market research.

Although a point of note is that such call centers need to maintain a database of clients. Governments across the world are setting up Do-Not-Call Lists. If a telemarketing call center makes a call to any registered number, then it could face legal trouble. However, loopholes do exist. For example, a call can be made on a registered number if its owner has made a purchase of any of the company’s products within the last 18 months.

Choosing a call center to manage the outbound telemarketing efforts is simply a smart and cost-efficient solution to supplement existing sales efforts in any company, irrespective of their size and the industry they are in.

Telemarketing services mainly involve calling up prospective clients and advertising products to them. However, not everyone appreciates receiving such calls.

The US government provides a facility to its citizen whereby they can register their telephone or cell numbers in a ‘Do Not Call’ list. If any telemarketer calls a listed number, the company runs the risk of being sued. However, there are still ways to work around this barrier for telemarketing call centers and they are:

i) Telemarketing calls can be made to people who have purchased a product from the company within the last 18 months.

ii) The law does not cover business numbers.

iii) Calls can be made to people who haveused the company’s inbound call center services within the past 31 days.

iv) Charities and surveys are exempted from the law.

v) Bill collection and late billing calls are also exempted.

The best way to manage all this and avoid facing imprisonment is by employing the services of a good BPO call center, which keeps track of all the above factors.

Telemarketing call centers are mostly specialized outbound call centers, tasked with the work of advertising a product by calling up prospective clients. But is it feasible to call anyone during any time of the day?

Imagine a scenario where a telemarketing call center employee calls up someone, who is debt ridden, to invest in property. Data analysis helps to prevent such scenarios. Data analysis would indicate that the person may be interested in taking a loan. This way, only relevant clients can be targeted.

Another point of note is the Do-Not-Call list. People are constantly registering their numbers on it to avoid receiving telemarketing calls. Data analysis has a remedy for this too. Companies can keep a track of those customers with whom they have done business in the last 18 months. It is perfectly legal to make telemarketing calls to them.

A smaller working of telemarketing call centers is done through inbound call centers. Through advertisements made on television or hoardings, companies influence customers to contact their call centers for details. Data analysis helps here too. The law allows an outbound telemarketing call center to call any person who has made a call to them in the last 6 months.

Data analysis is in fact the only means by which outbound telemarketing call centers can achieve accuracy and the means to contact prospective clients without becoming a nuisance.
